Let's Lower LDL Cholesterol!

October 26, 2023

On March 24, 2023, my LDH cholesterol was measured at a high level of 170mg/dL during my first day in the hospital. Just like my usual saying, 'High cholesterol may not show symptoms at first, but it's too late once your arteries clog!' It turned out to be true. I used to take statins at one point, but I switched to a more natural Omega-3 approach. There are mixed opinions about the effectiveness of this medication.
My primary doctor prescribed two types of hyperlipidemia medication and instructed me to lower my LDL cholesterol to below 70. If it doesn't decrease, they mentioned the possibility of injection therapy. I thought, 'I don't want injections! I don't want my stent to clog!' and decided to make an effort.
Since my discharge, I haven't consumed beef, pork, chicken, eggs, or cheese. I switched to non-fat milk. Even though the doctor said, 'You don't need to go to such extremes,' I'm too afraid of stent blockage and plaque buildup to eat those foods.
As a result, my LDH cholesterol has been maintained at 60mg/dL.
Everyone, it's a good idea to lower your cholesterol just to be safe!"
